| Training for Safety at Ski and Beach Resorts 
On September 1 and 2, training sessions for safety at ski and beach resorts were held at the Ministry of Tourism. The Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, Ms. Nada Sardouk, opened the meeting, and speakers Najib Saadeh, Ziad Halaby and Gebran Karnaouni outlined risks that are present in Lebanon's various resorts and ways in which they can be prevented. Attendants included members of the Civil Defense, the Lebanese Red Cross, the Ministry of Public Works, private resorts and NGOs. The training session on September 2, 2009 covered training on inspections in beach resorts and was attended by the Ministry of Tourism inspectors.
